Many arrive in shock, telling stories of loved ones lost during the flight or killed in conflict. Some are injured. Some families are sheltering in public buildings while others are sleeping outside.
The sheer scale of the refugee influx from September 2016 quickly filled the existing camps in the Gambella region to capacity and forced the Government and UNHCR to open new camps.
