EU response

• € 7,2 million additional funding for DG ECHO partners.

• Regular and ad hoc humanitarian 'ECHO Flight' services to Beni: 293 passengers and 28 ton freight in 40 flights as of 11 November.

• UN helicopter 100% financed by the Commission.

• Through the Union Civil Protection Mechanism, Norway deployed a team who provided training in Goma on the use medical evacuation isolation shuttles (22-29 August). The request for assistance came from the World Health Organisation.

• Full time presence of EU humanitarian experts in the field since the start of the outbreak. One DG ECHO health expert and one senior epidemiologist from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) are currently in Butembo.
