LRA Regional Update: DRC, CAR and South Sudan: January - December 2011

While reconciliation efforts by the DRC government have revived hopes for peace in Ituri, thousands of displaced families and children lack access to basic services, education and healthcare.

Until recently, Yei had largely escaped the effects of the primary conflict in South Sudan. Security deteriorated rapidly after a new conflict broke out in Juba in July.

A robust response is required to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe. The plan aims to immediately and rapidly scale-up operations and to increase the provision of protection and life-saving assistance.
