Originally published

Since 15 August 2012, areas in the North and Far North regions of Cameroon have been affected by extreme rainfall. The situation has worsened in the Far North region following the rupture of the Maga dam which has caused flooding of the downstream areas. At least 25,000 people are affected across the regions (Source: The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent - IFRC, 06/09/2012). The International Charter was triggered by USGS (activation No.409) on behalf of the Civil Protection Directorate, Cameroon. GIO-EMS has been nominated project manager for this activation.
