Cambodia Floods - 27 Aug 2002

Attachments

While southern provinces of Cambodia are still facing severe drought conditions, northeastern, eastern and southwestern provinces located along the Mekong River are now being affected by floods (Stung Treng, Kratie, Kampong Cham, Prey Veng and Kandal). These floods are due to heavy rainfall which occurred recently in the northeastern parts of the country and due to the rain-fall and storms which hit upstream countries (Thailand and Lao). (OCHA Sit-Rep No.1, see ReliefWeb for details.
