The British Virgin Islands were struck by Hurricane IRMA, a category 5 storm, on 7 September 2017. Massive damage has been reported across the islands with homes and critical facilities flattened, power failures and communications down.
The present map shows the damage grade assessment in the area of Tortola East (British Virgin Islands (U.K.)). The thematic layer has been derived from post-event satellite image by means of visual interpretation. The estimated geometric accuracy is 5 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of the background satellite image.
