SITUATION OVERVIEW as of 16 Feb.
688,000 refugees into Bangladesh (of which approx. 549,000 in “Mega Camp”)
5,489 Diphtheria cases, 38 deaths in refugee camps (case-fatality < 1%)
WFP reached 38 687 conflict-affected people, in Maungdaw District (Northern Rakhine, Myanmar)
88 cases of Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD) reported in several camps in early February, 2 deaths (Cental Rakhine, Mynamar)
EU CIVIL PROTECTION MECHANISM (EUCPM)
Upon the request of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the EUCPM was activated on 27 October 2017. Equipment and facilities arrived in Cox's Bazar on 8 November and have been operational since 9 December. The handover of the EUCPM Coordination Hubs to IOM is planned for end of February 2018
