Weather Forecast

Synoptic Situation: : Monsoon axis runs through Panjab, Hariyana, Northern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and thence north-eastwards to Assam across Central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated trough extends to Northeast Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.

Forecast: Light to moderate rain/T. showers accompanied by tempo. gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places.

Temperature: Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Flood Outlook

  • All the major river systems are in rising trend which may continue during next 48 hours.

  • The Jamuna at Bhadurabad, & the Ghagot at Gaibandha are flowing above their respective danger level by 34 cm & 14 cm recorded today at 06.00 AM.

  • The Surma at Kanaighat, Sylhet & Sunamganj, the Someswari at Durgapur & the Kansha at Jariajanjail are flowing above their respective danger level by 81 cm, 15 cm and 72 cm, 27 cm & 108 cm recorded today at 06.00 AM.

  • The flood situation in Sylhet, Sunamganj, Gaibandha & Jamalpur may further deteriorate in next 24 hours.
