• In the last two months, rainfall, floods, snowfall and avalanches, affected several areas of Afghanistan, causing damage and deaths.

• Since 1 February, over 9 300 households have been affected by floods, heavy snowfall and avalanches across 24 provinces of Afghanistan. As a result, 291 people died, over 1 500 houses were totally destroyed and over 7 500 houses were damaged.

• Recent flooding in Baghlan Province has resulted in seven dead and 11 injured, with 319 houses totally or partially destroyed. In Badghis Province another 223 houses were destroyed.

• ECHO partners have undertaken rapid assessments and, together with other actors on the ground, are providing immediate humanitarian relief, including food assistance, shelter and non-food items.
