Afghanistan: Cross-Border Movement from Pakistan (as of 26 June 2014)

Recent security situation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) in Pakistan has led to the displacement of thousands of people to surrounding districts in Paktika and Khost province in Afghanistan. Initial registration figures, as of 26 June, indicate a total of 46,358 persons (6,741 families). Approximately 777 Afghans have also crossed the border from NWA and are living in several districts in Khost province. The numbers are expected to increase as assessments are ongoing.
Food, WASH, shelter and non-food items are the immediate priority needs. Humanitarian partners currently providing assistance in the region include APA/UNHCR, ARCS, ARS/WFP,
HNI-TPO, IMC, IRC, MEHR, MSF, UNICEF, and WHO.
