La province du Nord-Kivu est frappée, depuis le dernier trimestre de l’année 2017, par un niveau de violence sans précédent. La recrudescence des conflits armés a provoqué de nouvelles vagues de mouvements de population : entre janvier et décembre 2017, 442,000 personnes ont été obligées de fuir leurs villages d’origine en raison des violences des groupes armés et des milices. Actuellement, plus de 1 millions de personnes sont déplacées au sein de la province et depuis le début de l’année, la situation n’a pas montré de signes d’amélioration.
Established in 2002, Radio La Benevolencija Humanitarian Tools Foundation (RLB) is a Dutch NGO committed to the empowerment of minorities and social groups affected by ethnocentric or other forms of hate violence. Using a combination of Education & Entertainment (edutainment) methodologies and psychological research, RLB’s media and grassroots intervention in Rwanda, DRC and Burundi is a communications campaign to embed, in national audiences, knowledge on how to resist the psychological pressures and manipulation that turn individuals into perpetrators of atrocity.
