About the role: This is a 12 month unaccompanied role with terms based in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh at Grade 3 and a salary range €35,811 – €39,790
You will report to the Emergency Director and work closely with the Nutrition Advisor and the Emergency Programme Manager. We would like you to start as soon as possible.
PCI is preparing for a rapid assessment in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The purpose of the assessment is to evaluate the need and feasibility for potential interventions with host communities, with a focus on preparedness and multi-sectoral response using a Neighborhood Approach. Given the elevated levels of vulnerability in the area, as well as the recent influx of refugees, the likelihood that the situation will worsen is high. PCI hopes to use this assessment to seek funding for multi-sector interventions.

Salary - BDT 132,638 – BDT 149,285 Gross per month (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)

The Head of Programme manages the Programmes Unit in Cox’s Bazar and coordinates closely with the Area Manager of the field site, along with technical staff. The Head of Programme position is based in Cox’s Bazar, with regular travel to Dhaka and field visits. The position, which reports directly to the DRC Country Director, is a key role on the Senior Management team and is expected to act as Country Director during gaps or absences. The influx of over 700,000 Rohingya people to Bangladesh in August 2017 has dramatically impacted the surrounding communities in Cox’s Bazar district, including in the delivery of and access to education. Prior to the influx, primary education outcomes in Cox’s Bazar district were among the lowest nationwide. Students in the district struggle to access schooling, and Cox’s Bazar has the lowest percentage of children of primary school age enrolling in first grade, at 70.8%.
