ABOUT THE MISSION IN LEBANON

Lebanon hosts about 1.5 million Syrian refugee, mainly in its northern governorate (Akkar and Tripoli) and in the Bekaa Valley. SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) has launched its operations in Lebanon in March 2013 in order to address the immediate needs of both Syrian refugee and Lebanese host families also affected by the crisis.

Seven years into the Syria crisis, Lebanon remains the country hosting the largest number of refugees per capita, with over one million Syrian refugees, and around 20,000 refugees of Iraqi, Sudanese, Ethiopian and other origins, in addition to the Palestine refugees under UNRWA’s mandate. There are no formal camps for Syrian refugees in the country, and refugees are living in hundreds of communities and locations across the country.

The Capacity Assessment Tool for Infrastructure (CAT-I) is a method to assess an institution’s planning, design, procurement, construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning processes and resources.
