Business Development Intern (Remote | English Writing Focus)

Ektimisi is a MENA-based research and development consulting firm working across the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe. Position Overview

Ektimisi is seeking recent graduates and junior professionals to join its Business Development Department as interns. This role involves contributing to proposal writing, donor engagement, and opportunity tracking within a remote, dynamic consultancy setting. Candidates must have strong English writing and editing skills and a keen interest in humanitarian and development programming.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support in drafting and editing technical proposals for a range of consultancy services (e.g., evaluations, assessments, capacity building).
  • Track donor opportunities and maintain an internal pipeline of tenders and solicitations.
  • Assist with compiling and formatting supporting documents and annexes.
  • Ensure timely and complete submission of proposals.
  • Conduct desk research to support project design and contextualization.
  • Collaborate with other interns and BD staff to meet proposal deadlines.
  • Attend meetings and defend proposals
  • Conduct interviews and networking for proposals
  • Join regular mentorship and feedback sessions with the BD Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, development, international relations).
  • Native or near-native fluency in English (written and spoken) – must.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English – must.
  • Familiarity with proposal writing or donor-funded programs – preferred.
  • Understanding of the humanitarian and/or development sectors – preferred.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word and Excel – preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines independently.
