Are you passionate about education and looking for a hands-on volunteer experience that allows you to directly impact the lives of children? Join our team as a Children’s Program Teacher in our Yachay Project and become part of a dedicated team working to support and empower children from vulnerable communities in Arequipa. As a Yachay project volunteer, you will be the after school program teacher in a classroom of 10-15 students. You’ll be involved in every part of the children's afternoon – from helping with homework to leading creative lessons, sharing meals, and building meaningful relationships.

Responsibilities
● Supervise children in their classroom during after school program (Monday - Friday)
○ Homework Support (1 hour): Provide one-on-one and small-group help with homework and reinforce core school concepts.
○ Teaching Time (1 hour): Plan and teach dynamic, engaging lessons in areas like English, math, and communication
○ Dinner and Clean Up (1 hour): Share dinner with the children and support them in cleaning and maintaining their shared space, fostering responsibility and community values.

● Prepare lessons and send in plans and materials to the project coordinator
● Communicate with parents as needed
● Attend trainings with program staff and psychologists

Requirements
● Conversational Spanish level minimum.
● Minimum 18 years old
● First experience working in an NGO is a plus.
● Intercultural awareness and communication skills
● Independence, creativity and responsibility
● Minimum 3 months commitment

Details
● Monday - Friday from 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm and 2 Saturdays / month
● Low-cost accommodation available
● International contacts in the Intiwawa community
● A letter of reference and certificate will be provided at the end of the term
