MERA Global is a data-driven consultancy headquartered in the UK, with registration in MENA. We specialize in Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEL), research, data analytics, and capacity-building, supporting humanitarian and development actors in fragile and conflict-affected settings.

With a presence across the MENA region, MERA Global supports evidence generation to improve accountability, effectiveness, and strategic learning for clients such as USAID, FCDO, EU, DRC, Expertise France, and others.

Position Overview:

MERA Global is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Development Intern to support our growing portfolio of clients and projects. The intern will assist in identifying new business opportunities, drafting proposals, and coordinating partnerships. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual interested in the intersection of business, international development, and consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the tracking and analysis of funding opportunities (donor portals, partner websites, tender platforms).
  • Assist in the preparation of concept notes, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and technical proposals.
  • Maintain and update a database of business opportunities, contacts, and ongoing submissions.
  • Conduct desk research to support proposal development and partner mapping.
  • Coordinate communication with potential partners and collaborators.
  • Assist in preparing capability statements, presentations, and other business development materials.
  • Participate in internal brainstorming and proposal planning sessions.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Business Development team as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in International Development, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills in English.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Interest in proposal writing, donor relations, and development consulting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.

Desirable Skills:

  • Prior internship or volunteer experience with NGOs, INGOs, or consultancies.
  • Familiarity with key donors (e.g., USAID, EU, FCDO, UN agencies).
  • Knowledge of MEL, research, or capacity-building programs is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
