About the Consultancy
CAFOD is seeking a Brazil-based consultant to support the coordination and management of its Brazil Programme. This mid-level role will provide technical, administrative and coordination support to local partners, the Brazil team, and CAFOD teams in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with 2–5 years of relevant experience in development, humanitarian programming or project/grant support in Brazil, especially in partnership-based contexts.
Key Responsibilities
Programme and Partner Support
- Provide day-to-day support to CAFOD partners in project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation.
- Support context/risk analysis, safeguarding, and programme quality assessments.
- Assist with documentation and coordination of partner visits, meetings and workshops.
Grant and Compliance Support
- Track project approvals, budgets, payments and reports using CAFOD systems (e.g., WebPromise, SharePoint).
- Ensure donor compliance and support financial documentation and reporting processes.
Funding and Donor Engagement
- Assist in the development of funding proposals, reports and presentations.
- Support relationship management with donors and identify funding opportunities.
Programme Coordination and Communication
- Produce bilingual communication content (articles, blogs, updates).
- Provide translation/interpretation as needed.
- Support internal coordination, planning and reporting processes.
- Monitor project budgets and assist in financial reconciliations.
Consultant Profile
Languages:
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) is essential.
Required Experience:
- 2–5 years supporting development/humanitarian programmes in Brazil.
- Grant administration, financial monitoring, and project compliance.
- Experience working with local partners, NGOs, or Church-based organisations.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of programme cycle management and safeguarding principles.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint).
- Communication and writing skills in both languages.
- Capacity to work remotely, independently and across time zones.
- Ability to travel for partner monitoring or meetings if required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., international development, social sciences, administration).

- This is a mid-level support role. Overqualified or senior-level applicants may not be considered.
