Summary of the Consultancy:
DOOR Beyond War seeks an experienced PAR Trainer to deliver hands-on training for Syrian and Turkish CSOs in Gaziantep. The trainer will equip participants with practical skills in qualitative/quantitative research, ethical data collection, and collaborative analysis to enhance their advocacy efforts in conflict-affected contexts. This training program (and the advocacy activities in the following phases) will be a Training of Trainers (ToT) for emerging researchers among the Turkish and Syrian communities. Ultimately, the civil society actors will be defining their own advocacy agendas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Design tailored PAR training modules, including:
- Co-creation of research tools with CSOs.
- Survey design, interviews, focus groups, and mixed-methods approaches.
- Ethical safeguards for conflict-sensitive research.
- Training Delivery (in-person, Gaziantep): Facilitate interactive workshops using real-world case studies relevant to Türkiye.
- Coaching & Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to emerging researchers within Turkish and Syrian CSOs to strengthen their PAR implementation skills.
- Post-Training Evaluation: Undergo a performance review to assess training effectiveness before potential continuation.
- Reporting: Document outcomes and provide recommendations for future phases.

- Comprehensive curriculum with learning objectives.
- Pre-assessment evaluation tools.
- Contextual case studies from the Syrian/Turkish context.
- Five-days (8 hours a day) interactive daily lesson plans.
- Practical data collection exercises.
- Daily participant skill evaluation forms.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Advanced degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of direct experience as a PAR trainer.
- Strong coaching and mentorship skills.
- Fluency in Arabic (required) and English (preferred).
Highly Desirable:
- Experience working with Syrian and/or Turkish CSOs.
- Familiarity with conflict-affected research contexts.
