We provide needs-based, flexible, innovative and sustainable support to Sister National Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and the wider humanitarian community. We enable early and immediate life-saving assistance and implement anticipatory action and risk-reducing activities, particularly in the face of climate change and armed conflicts and their humanitarian consequences.
GRC supports the Moroccan Red Crescent Society (MRCS) since 2012 through joint projects, knowledge exchange and technical and managerial support in the fields of Health, Disaster Management, Cash and Voucher, and overall Host National Society Development activities.
In the aftermath of the earthquake that struck Morocco in September 2023, the GRC has been playing an active role in supporting the health components of the response, in close coordination with the MRCS. GRC is leading the community-based health component of the earthquake response, working closely with health focal points from other Partner National Societies (PNS) and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). As of April 2025, GRC supports community-based health activities across three branches. To strengthen this effort, GRC is seeking a Community-Based Health Delegate to support the implementation of these activities on the ground.
The Delegate will be part of an experienced international team of delegates and national staff and work under the supervision of GRC’s Earthquake Program Manager and in close coordination with other technical delegates.
Starting date: 01.06.2025
Duration: 12 months
Location: Marrakech, with up to 50% of travelling to the branches.
Main duties & responsibilities:
To support the implementation of the community-based health programs of GRC across the different branches. The delegate will work in close coordination with the Health Department of MRCS in Rabat, as well as with other technical focal points and coordinators from GRC and IFRC. Under the guidance of MRCS’s Health Department in Rabat, the delegate will closely support community-based health focal points at the branch level to ensure high-quality and impactful implementation of the program.
Main objectives:
- To ensure a quality and impactful implementation of the community-based health programs.
- To technically support and gu1ide the community-based health focal points and volunteers at branch level, as per the guidance of MRCS’ health deppartment.
- To ensure quality and timely narrative and financial reporting in compliance with GRC and donor policies and regulations.
- To contribute to ensuring a good coordination among the CBHFA and CBDRR programs in Morocco, as well as with other sectors.
- To contribute to strengthening MRCS’ Health Department in Morocco, by providing any necessary technical support or advice.
- To support in developing health-related concept notes and proposals.
Required Competencies & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Public Health preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience;
- At least 5 years’ experience in Public Health in areas like infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, nutrition, experience in the MENA region is an asset;
- Solid experience in setting up and leading community-based health programs and interventions;
- Proven ability to develop and carry out assessment, strategic review and stakeholder analysis using a participative, bottom-up approach;
- Proven ability to train, supervise, and support local staff;
- Demonstrated strong organisational skills and excellent command of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, database management and statistical analysis;
- Excellent written and spoken French required, Arabic is an asset;
- Ability to work independently and as a team member;
- A solid understanding of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and ability and agreement to adhere to the Red Cross Red Crescent Fundamental Principles;
- Ability to complete a thorough medical screening process 'working abroad under specific climate and health conditions';
- Valid International Driving Permit (IDP).

We offer you a compensation package according to the collective employment agreement of the GRC, an expatriation allowance during your mission as well as the accommodation. In addition to a full insurance package GRC is covering a home flight within a 12-months period of assignment.
