Social Media Officer

Job Summary:

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is looking for a creative and proactive Social Media Officer to join its team in the Damascus Office. The Social Media Officer will be responsible for managing SNHR’s presence across various platforms, developing engaging content, and supporting the organization’s advocacy and human rights awareness campaigns. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in digital communication strategies and tools, and able to utilize AI-powered platforms to enhance outreach and engagement.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage and update SNHR’s social media accounts (Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).

• Develop and implement social media strategies that align with SNHR’s messaging and strategic goals.

• Create and schedule engaging posts, stories, and multimedia content that promote SNHR’s reports, statements, and campaigns.

• Monitor trends and news relevant to human rights and adapt content accordingly.

• Use AI tools to optimize content creation, analyze engagement data, and improve audience targeting.

• Collaborate with the media, reports, design, and advocacy teams to ensure message consistency and timely publication.

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular analytical reports on social media performance.

• Respond to audience inquiries and comments in a timely and professional manner.

• Ensure all digital content upholds SNHR’s ethical standards and human rights values.

• Perform any other tasks assigned by the management within the scope of work.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in managing professional social media accounts.

• Language: Proficiency in both Arabic and English.

• Strong knowledge of major social media platforms and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Meta Business Suite).

• Experience using AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Canva AI, Lately, or similar technologies for content creation and optimization.

• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

• Ability to analyze audience behavior and develop targeted content strategies.

• Creativity, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Basic knowledge of design and video editing is a plus.

Work Environment:

• The work will be based at SNHR’s Damascus office, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

• A professional work environment that requires continuous interaction with multiple teams within SNHR.
