Organization Overview
The Way of Hope for Life Organization (WHLO) is a charitable organization that has been operating since 2002, dedicated to empowering Afghan individuals for a brighter and more sustainable future. The organization is establishing an English language training center in Istanbul to support Afghan migrants, particularly young women who have been deprived of educational opportunities.
We believe that proficiency in English can open doors for Afghans, enabling them to secure legal and dignified employment opportunities in Europe and the United States while reducing their vulnerability to exploitation and human trafficking. This center will also be open to other language learners residing in Istanbul, regardless of nationality.
Job Purpose
WHLO is seeking qualified English Language Teacher to join its team. The selected candidates will play a key role in teaching English, focusing on practical skills for students, and contributing to the development of innovative teaching methodologies. They will also collaborate with the Program Unit to enhance the overall quality of the organization’s educational programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality English language Teacher tailored to the needs of students.
- Focus on professional and practical English skills, ensuring fluency in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Plan, manage, and conduct classes in alignment with the organization’s curriculum and activity plans.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methods and techniques suitable for the target audience.
- Conduct research and assess students' learning needs to continuously improve teaching strategies.
- Coordinate with organizational leadership to strengthen the curriculum and teaching approach.
- Prepare regular progress reports for the organization, donors, and other stakeholders as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English Literature or a related field with a minimum of three years of teaching experience; OR
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Business Administration) with at least three years of teaching experience.
- Proven experience in English language Teacher and educational project planning.
- Strong proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Ability to design and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
