CRS and our global partners have created a new multisectoral approach to malaria programming that helps identify and leverage resources across development and relief sectors. This approach helps meet global and national malaria elimination targets and reaches the most at-risk populations. Through these efforts, CRS can integrate malaria activities into other programs such as emergency response, food security and livelihoods, and immunization through out malaria endemic countries. As a member of the Malaria Strategic Change Platform project team, sitting in the health and malaria units, you will monitor and report on project activities in support of Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
- Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
- Monitor and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. Assist partners in their efforts to reflect on project experiences.
- Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data per specified mechanisms and tools. Collaborate with local partner(s) to prepare reports per established reporting schedule.
- Collect information on staff capacity needs and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and monitor capacity building and technical support activities to ensure effective impact.
- Complete project documentation for assigned activities. Assist with identifying information for case studies and reports on promising practices.
- Support the development of communication materials related to Malaria Strategic Platform initiative.
- Liaise with other departments and other Strategic Platforms to help develop synergies across the CRS Agency Wide Strategy.
- Help in the development and update of key program documents including communications plan, monitoring and evaluation plan, resource mobilization plan, and other project documents as needed.
- Support resource mobilization efforts including the development of concept notes, proposals, and budgets.
- Communicate and help connect with key external malaria stakeholders engaged in the project. Monitor and evaluate the progress of the strategic platforms key indicators and help in reporting out these key activities.
- Support budget forecasting and expense tracking of strategic platform budgets to ensure effective implementation of project activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, international relations, Business or equivalent degree.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience, preferably five. Including new business development award management and international relief and development practice. Overseas work experience preferred.
- Preferred knowledge of malaria and infectious disease programming
- Understanding of malaria donor environment including USAID PMI, Global Fund, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Others.
- Exceptional writing ability and experience with developing proposals for funding to, and administering grants or contracts from, USG agencies.
- Understanding of Catholic Church and CRS’ mission and program approach highly desirable.
Required Languages – Spoken and Written English Required, Spoken and Written French Preferred
Travel - Must be willing and able to travel up to 15% (as and when travel becomes feasible).
