CRS Sudan is as dynamic and diverse as the needs of the people we serve. Since 1978, CRS Sudan has been assisting the people of Sudan across the emergency, recovery, and development spectrum. Key sectoral areas for CRS Sudan include food security, livelihoods, nutrition, health, peacebuilding, and natural resource management. CRS Sudan has an expanding portfolio of programs crossing the emergency response and resiliency spectrum. Currently, CRS Sudan oversees programming across five Darfur s tates and the Red Sea.
You will lead and provide management and technical oversight of the development and implementation of the CRS Sudan Country Program (CP) emergency and early recovery programming, particularly for large and complex projects, funded by BHA, UN and other main donors, ensuring effective systems and processes are in place that support high-quality programming advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work in serving the poor and vulnerable. Your management skills and knowledge will ensure that the CP delivers high-quality programming and continuously works towards improving the impact of its emergency and early recovery programming, and position CRS/Sudan programs for further growth.
Required Languages – English language required. Arabic language is a plus.
Travel – This position is based in Khartoum, Sudan. There is expected 50% travel within Sudan to field offices and project sites.

- Good experience in project grants management, including project design, preferably for grants from multiple public donors, including USAID.

- Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information management systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities: 3 Project Managers for emergency and recovery projects
Key Working Relationships:
Internal: Country Representative, Head of Programming, Deputy Head of Programming, Finance Manager, Regional Technical Advisors, HQ Advisors, Project Staff and Consultants
External: CRS implementing partners; donor representatives, UN cluster leads and agencies, peer humanitarian agencies; third party monitors
- Master's Degree in International Development, International Relations or in the field of Public Health required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant field-based project management experience required, with preferably at least 2-3 years working in emergency and early recovery programming. Experience in Health, WASH, and nutrition sectors is particularly desirable.
- Experience in managing moderately complex projects preferably with an international NGO and for USAID and UN donors.
