Looking to volunteer with refugees abroad?

Lifting Hands International is looking for volunteers to join our team in Serres, Northern Greece, as soon as possible!

We operate a community center for refugees in Serres, a small city about an hour away from Thessaloniki. We work with a population of 1000+ refugees at the local camps, providing regular aid distributions and a range of psychosocial support programs. Our community center includes an Education Centre, a Children Friendly Space, a Female Friendly Space, and a Distribution Programme.

We are looking for volunteers to start as soon as possible that are able to:

  • create a safe space for a multicultural female friendly program
  • organise empowering activities
  • help with our other activities, such as warehouse, child friendly space, etc...
  • commit to at least one month
  • work 30-35 hours a week
  • previous experience is highly valued
  • Ideal for students/graduates in
    • Field Psychologist (MHPSS/SGBV)
    • Gender studies
    • Physiotherapist
    • Diversity studies

Additional information:

  • we offer housing at our volunteer’s apartment in the centre of Serres for 5 euros per night;

  • the minimum age for applying is 19 years old;

  • we cannot provide assistance with visa applications or cover any related expenses.
