As Chief of Party, you will provide leadership and overall management for an anticipated USAID-funded project to foster resilience in Malawi through an integrated approach addressing agricultural livelihoods, food security and nutrition, climate change mitigation and adaptation, disaster risk management and other key aspects of resilience. Your leadership, management and technical knowledge will ensure the delivery of high-quality programming and advance the position of CRS as a leading agency in local systems strengthening and participatory, locally-driven development. As a senior leader you will ensure quality of work and delivery of results and proactively manage and mitigate risks. This position is contingent upon funding.
Required languages – English; Chichewa is an advantage
Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% in Malawi.

Proactive, resourceful and results-oriented
USAID Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party experience, preferably on Feed the Future activities.
Experience managing large-scale USAID contracts, including management of sub-contracts and grants under contract (GUCs)
Recognized leader on climate- and resilience-related issues as demonstrated by peer reviewed publications, conference presentations, etc.
Experience integrating gender equality, social inclusion, and youth participation in resilience programming.
Familiarity with the social, environmental and economic
ext in Malawi, with established stakeholder relationships and networks.
Demonstrated experience of successful program management, including management of complex, high-value, multi-activity projects, with complicated logistics.
Experience engaging and strengthening local government structures, civil society, local media, and private sector actors. Knowledge of CRS partnership strategy a plus.
Ability to represent and present at high levels.
Experience in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), Web Conferencing Applications, and information and budget management systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Director of Finance, Operations, MEAL and technical project leads.

Internal: Country Representative, Head of Programs, Head of Operations, Senior Management Team
External: Donor, implementing
partners, government and sector stakeholders
Masters degree in agriculture, rural development, environmental sciences/management, climate/adaptation, and/or economics or a relevant technical area.
7 or more years of relevant management and technical experience, with expertise in climate resilience, natural resource management, disaster risk management, food and nutrition security, agricultural livelihoods and market development, and/or rural development.
5 years of experience managing donor funds. Strong knowledge and experience in budget management.
5 years of staff management experience and abilities that are conducive to a learning environment. Experience coaching senior program staff.
