1. DESCRIPTION OF THE POST
Area of intervention: based in Maputo, where LVIA has an office within Caritas Mozambique premises; frequent missions are foreseen in Nampula Province
Donors: European Union, Italian Agency for Cooperation and Development (AICS)
Sectors: Waste management, environment protection, social inclusion, Internal Displacement, Water and sanitation, food security, resilience, sustainable and inclusive income generating activities promotion
Role: Coordination of Activities related with on-going and future projectuality, namely providing technical assistance to Local Actors in transversal thematic. Country Representation
Refers to: Desk Officer in Italy
Duration:12 months (renewable)
Expected availability: End of July 2021
Salary: In line with LVIA salary policy
2. CANDIDATES PROFILE:
Qualification: Degree in agronomy, economics, political science, social science, environmental/energy engineering.
Previous experience: At least 5 years of experience managing NGOs activities at a Country level (headquarters and / or local offices) and/or implementation of international cooperation projects in rural areas and/or environmental field. Experience of conducting multi-actor projects particularly with the participation of institutional actors. Knowledge and implementation of social innovation and/or human rights-based projects.
Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of administrative and accounting management, as well as AICS and EU procedures. Mastery of IT tools (Office package, internet, e-mail, accounting software, etc.).
Languages: Excellent knowledge of the Portuguese. English preferable.
Ability to implement complex projects

Procurement and administration skills
Ability of vision and synthesis
Communication and mediation skills with local partners and institutions
Previous experiences in Africa, preferably in Mozambique.
Previous experiences as NGO Country Representative.
Previous work experience in WASH sector and/or in the integrated management of urban solid waste.
Insights of agricultural development, food security (masters, specialization courses, etc.), rural development.
Previous experience in emergency and post-emergency projects involving IDPs.
Social Innovation and Human Centred Design projects ideation and implementation experience
Previous collaborations with L.V.I.A.
