Unique opportunity to join a dynamic team as Senior Regional Strategy Analyst in a human rights, peace building and conflict resolution organisation based in central London.

DPI is an independent non-governmental organisation founded on the principles of impartiality and independence. Its mission is to promote democracy and peace building through strengthened public dialogue and engagement.

Senior Regional Strategy Analyst will have the following Responsibilities:

  • Senior Regional Strategy Analyst will work with DPI’s senior advisors, DPI’s senior management and programme officers to develop and implement a forum of policy and advocacy regarding conflict resolution in Turkey.
  • Develop and implement a forum of practical policy and advocacy regarding conflict in Turkey, with a focus on peace processes and steps towards improved policy in Turkey and in the region.
  • Develop policy recommendations related to the issues of conflict in Turkey with specific recommendations relating to mediation efforts.
  • Undertake and carry out critical analysis, assessment, and research.
  • Prepare reports and studies based on the research and outreach efforts.
  • Liaise with and nurture relations with the UK Government, key stakeholders, governments, national and international actors and civil societies, other relevant policy making and professional organisations, and actual and potential funders.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience with a post graduate degree in one or more of the following areas: Conflict Resolution, Political Science, Law, History, Mediation or equivalent.
  • Extensive proven track record in Turkey policy development or a similar field.
  • Extensive experience and on-the-ground experience working on political and diplomatic issues.
  • Strong ability to build up high level policy-related, diplomatic and other contacts in Europe, Turkey and internationally on issues related to democracy and peace.
  • Proven capacity to advocate and influence policy and media.
  • Proven track record in coordination and organisation in the field of mediation and conflict resolution, or similar fields.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, ability to prioritise, pay attention to detail and attend to multiple assignments.
  • Experience in managing projects and programmes, including demonstrated ability to design projects, coordinate implementation, analyse findings and make recommendations, particularly in complex international settings or conflict affected countries.
  • Proven ability and track record in thinking strategically and innovatively and to plan, budget and implement those plans.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Willingness and an ability to travel globally, especially between the UK and Turkey where required.
  • Knowledge of Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and an excellent command of written and spoken English is essential.
  • The successful applicant should possess good interpersonal and organisational skills.

DPI is a UKBA Sponsor and will be able to provide support in obtaining a work permit if the successful applicant does not have the Right To Work In the United Kingdom.
