The starting salary package for this position is £40,404 GBP (approx. $55,136 USD) including all allowances.

About the Lebanon programme:

MAG has been operational in Lebanon since 2000, conducting impact assessment surveys, delivering Mine Risk Education and clearing landmines, cluster munitions and other unexploded ordnance. Lebanon has an extensive legacy of conflict, and MAG is addressing the contamination left behind across predominantly southern and north-eastern areas of the country. The crisis in neighbouring Syria and movement of populations into Lebanon has made this work only more vital, and MAG continues to support both Lebanese and Syrian communities. Since 2006, MAG Lebanon has cleared more than 17 million square meters of contaminated land and removed more than 35,000 dangerous weapons, benefitting over 1.6 million people.

About the role:

Based in Lebanon and reporting to the Head of Support Services, the Interim Country Finance Manager will be a member of the programmes’ Senior Management Team, and provide strategic and operational financial leadership to the programme.

As the Interim Country Finance Manager you will be required to review the country finance strategy, operational model and set ways of working within the finance department. A key element of this role would be change management to ensure that programme finance processes and policies are in line with the HQ standards and the country finance team has the necessary skills and training provided. The programme also requires support with the completion of an internal audit alongside reviewing to strengthening the current finance systems.

About you:

You will need to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.) with previous overseas experience in a similar role, managing large and complex budgets. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to report in a timely and accurate manner, the ability to work independently and build excellent working relationships with project stakeholders. You must be self-motivated, with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, and able to work well under pressure with limited supervision in a fast paced environment. You will also need experience of providing strategic and operational financial leadership.

Fluent English language skills are essential, with French/Arabic language skills being an advantage.
