Working under and reporting to the Country Cooordinator, the Finance Officer is responsible for handling all financial aspects of HRF’s operations in Yemen. Specific responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain systems and controls to ensure the efficiency, integrity and transparency of HRF Yemen, including any field and/or fundraising offices in accordance with guidelines internationally accepted accounting standards.
Ensure all accounting records and supporting documentation for all financial transactions are maintained in a systematic order and in safe and secure conditions in HRF’s country offices.
Provide the country director with complete, accurate and timely financial reports, including institutional donor reports where required for all projects implemented in the field office, in the required formats.
Maintain accurate and effective financial controls on all transactions incurred by the HRF offices in Yemen.
Maintain effective control over cash and bank, and ensure that cash in hand and bank reconcile with accounting records.
Ensure that the field office and sub-office funds are adequately managed.
Liaise with external auditors, government departments, banks regularly.
Manage and undertake local internal audits of the field and fundraising offices including implemented projects.
Liaise regularly with HQ Finance Department, providing regular reports to HQ as required.
Support the Country Coordinator in managing logistics.
Support the Country Coordinator with various administrative tasks as required.
At least 2 years experience in a similar role in an NGO.
University degree in a related field.
Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office suite and accounting software.
Working knowledge of both English and Arabic.
Right to live and work in Yemen.
