About the Role

The Programme Quality Team is at the centre of CIUK’s new strategy for the delivery of high quality and impactful programming within CARE. Women’s economic empowerment is a key part of the CARE International 2020 Programme strategy. Within this strategy, there is an ambition to ensure that 30 million women have greater access to and control over economic resources.

CARE International UK is responsible for leading the work on Women’s Economic Empowerment on behalf of CARE International.

About You

The post holder, with the Head of Programme Quality, will work with colleagues across CARE International to scale up the number of women CARE is directly and indirectly empowering economically. Across the confederation we are growing a portfolio of work which delivers impact at scale towards the Women’s Economic Empowerment Strategy. This means that there will be an increasing global programmatic footprint in this field. The post holder, supported by the Head of Programme Quality and the Business Development Manager, will prioritise increasing the value and impact of CARE’s WEE programme portfolio by focusing on bidding for, winning and delivering world class programmes.

You are a passionate, self-motivated and experienced expert on Women’s Economic empowerment, with expertise in at least one of the core areas of the CI WEE strategy. You have a strong understanding of the key policy areas and cross cutting themes in the CI 2020 programme strategy and you are confident at representing CARE in a range of external fora and building strategic relationships and partnerships. You have a track record of inputting technical advice into large, successful donor projects, working with country and regional offices, companies, governments and international organisations in a supportive manner. You are able to manage your and your team time effectively and are experiences at ensuring a high level of cost recovery for technical advisors. You have the ability to ensure that compliance issues are managed and that the WEE team actions are within CARE policy.
