As a member of the Program Development and Quality team the Health and Nutrition (H&N) specialist will be responsible for leading the Save the Children country programme in all aspects of health and nutrition.

This exciting role has the potential to have a positive impact on thousands of disadvantaged children in Cambodia. Working with national and international colleagues across a range of disciplines such as early childhood development, primary education, child protection, child rights governance, partnerships, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning the H&N specialist will be a key member of a highly skilled and influential team.

The H&N specialist will provide technical oversight and support to the country programme in program design, proposal writing and development. While also providing technical support to health and nutrition projects, as well as working with governmental and non-governmental partners and staff at all levels to ensure that children and their caregivers in Cambodia have access to quality health and nutrition services.

Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • Master's Degree in Health, Nutrition or any relevant field (Pubic Health, Nutrition, Health Science, Health System Strengthening, Early Child Development, etc.).

  • Extensive and substantive relevant practical experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's Degree.

  • At least 7 years relevant work experience in leading the development and implementation of Health and Nutrition programmes

  • Experience working closely with government, donors, and other health actors in Cambodia

  • Proposal development and proposal writing skills

  • Fluency in written and spoken Khmer

Desireable

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Training, capacity building, coaching, and mentoring skills

  • Strong writing skills for proposal development, reporting, and designing training materials.

  • Excellent IT [Microsoft Office] skills

  • Ability and willingness to travel to all parts of the country

  • Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming teams, in emergencies

  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Project management experience

Contract length:** Unspecified Duration Contract (UDC)
