Based in Barcelona and supported by a prestigious Board and International Advisory Council, the Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT) is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to helping fragile and conflict- affected states achieve more sustainable transitions out of war or authoritarianism. IFIT's core work is to serve as an expert resource on integrated policy solutions for locally-led efforts to break cycles of conflict or repression.

IFIT is currently seeking one full-time intern for our three-month Fall Internship, beginning in November 2019. The selected intern's responsibilities will include thematic and country research, briefs drafting, attending and reporting meetings translations, administrative assistance with events and meetings, preparation of correspondence, and other tasks based on the needs of the office.

The intern will support IFIT’s Global and Latina America projects both in English and Spanish.

The position is unpaid but offers a stipend to cover part of local transportation and hosting expenses in Bogotá of 200 USD per month, as well as reimbursement for travel to/from Bogota for the purposes of the internship (up to a maximum of 500 USD).

Duration:

6 months (January – June 2020).

Qualifications:

  1. Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Law, Social or Political Science, International relations or a similar subject (current students close to acquiring an undergraduate degree may also apply).

  2. Advanced level written and spoken English.

  3. Medium-high level written and spoken Spanish.

  4. Excellent drafting and editing skills.

  5. Excellent research skills

  6. Detail-oriented, organised and reliable.

  7. Versatile and open to administrative tasks.

  8. Other languages an advantage.
