Center for Defending the Freedom of journalists is recruiting a Full-time Junior Communication Officer.

Ensuring ongoing and efficient communications on CDFJ's activities, results and achievements is a key role to be performed through the design and implementation of the program ’s communications strategy. This strategy shall operate at the program level as well as at the level of all networks created by the program. Communications in CDFJ shall cover and serve the main strands of activities of the program: capacity-building activities and other activities. S/he will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of the communications strategy. S/he will support the design and implementation of communications related actions developed by CDFJ staff, more especially in the fields of capacity-building, networking, and advocacy.



§ Monitoring the donors' news (international policies, follow-up of the call for proposals) and find relevant information for CDFJ Pillars

§ Writing in both English and Arabic items of news, articles and good practices on the different themes of interest for our stakeholders

§ Preparing newsletters

§ Updating website

§ Assisting in translations (English/Arabic)

§ Improving the design and graphism of documents, ideally doing some infographics

Event organization:

§ Participation in the organization's events and/or project conferences and various seminars and working sessions (coordination of the speakers, logistics, communication)

Other tasks:

§ Assisting the Director in administrative tasks (preparation of Board and General Assembly meetings)

§ Any other tasks as necessary and agreed under the supervision of the senior staff, such as information searches, preparation of dossiers, etc.

Required qualifications:

§ Bachelor's degree in a related field with a strong academic writing component or equivalent experience

§ High level of both spoken and written English and Arabic

§ Knowledge in the overall operations of NGOs.

§ Proficiency with computer software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).

§ Working with photo/video editing tool is preferred
