Assistant to the Director of Finance & Operations


Assisting the Director of Finance & Operations in financial controlling, donor management and general operational tasks

Finance and Operations

  • Monitoring accounting data
  • Assistance in internal audits of our various legal entities
  • Ensuring compliance with legal regulations and internal policies
  • Managing financial activities, and international payments to various legal entities and projects
  • Addressing operational and financial issues and concerns with the director in a timely manner
  • Fulfilling other operational tasks assigned by the director

Donor Management

  • Communicating with donors and successfully matching potential donations with unfunded projects/programmes
  • Developing and maintaining a trusting environment for our donors, building their confidence in our work, with a strong focus on donor retention
  • Monitoring and handling of incoming donations
  • Writing gratitude emails, and letters to donors
  • Ensuring accurate record keeping; responsibility for donor management system
  • Hosting office visitors, introducing our work

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Business Administration or equivalent education
  • Prior experience in accounting/controlling
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, very high accuracy level required
  • Very good communication skills
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid English language skills, advanced German language skills are of great advantage
  • Team player, who is also able to work independently
  • Open-minded, pro-active, flexible and spontaneous person, who is interested in NGO work and foreign cultures
  • Part-time engagement can be discussed
