Senior Program Officers/Program Officers for (1) Governance, (2) Social Development and (3) Economic Reform (for Filipinos only)
The successful candidates will play major roles in developing and expanding the Foundation’s economic reform, governance and social development programs in the Philippines, identifying emerging issues and new opportunities for the Foundation while managing the economic reform, governance, and social development reform areas of the Coalitions for Change Program and maintaining a good relationship within The Asia Foundation and other stakeholders. They will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the Foundation develops and maintain effective liaison with partner organizations in the fields of economic reforms, governance including local governance and social development. They will work closely with the Strategic Advisor to identify critical reforms and entry points to advance policy reforms in the field of economic reform, governance and social development using politically informed strategies and approaches and harnessing expertise of implementing partners and other stakeholders. Also, the successful recruits will lead The Asia Foundation’s efforts in mobilizing resources, developing, effectively implementing and monitoring their program areas.
Education: Completed Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in the field of Public Administration and Governance, Economics, Social Science, Development Studies, Public Policy or International Development is desirable.
Qualifications and Experience: At least with three (3) to seven (7) years demonstrated experience in economic reform, governance-related reforms and/or social development projects in the Philippines. An appreciation of trends and opportunities for economic reform and development entrepreneurship, governance and social development programming in the Philippines. With proven capacity to work with and nurture relationships with a wide range of constituents including government agencies, civil society organizations and the business sector at the national and local levels. Demonstrated networking skills and experience in partnering with diverse organizations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is essential. Strong time management skills and professional organizational abilities. Strong track record of working independently and in a diverse team environment.
