The Volunteer’s Role

Are you someone that values innovation and project development? Cuso International Bolivia is looking for you! Use your innovative ideas to find project funders and implement a project that will support our partner in their outreach and support of youth in their employment search and training.

UNIARTE is a social enterprise of indigenous artisans from Santa Cruz, who through their handicraft, inspired by their culture, promote and defend their cultural identity and coexistence with nature.

Cuso International in Bolivia has been working collaboratively with UNIARTE for some years now and the objective is to strengthen the organization so that it is auto sustainable and profitable.

Now, our goal is to find someone like you to support UNIARTE in their project development so they can reach a wider number of indigenous artisans, provide them with a increased and stable income, have a successful social enterprise while seeking opportunities in private sector and entrepreneurship innovation. Your role will help with the development of the institution and address the necessities of marginalized groups of youth through innovating ideas.

You'll work with your local colleagues in analyzing the organizational structure and capacity to implement better project development and find the right funding to keep their mission alive and growing!

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Analyze the organizational capacity, their strategies in project development, and implementation, as well as their internal and external funding.

  • Identify possibilities in project funders and donors and share recommendations on how to reach out or develop proposals through a relationship management strategy and tools to create the relationship and to maintain it.

  • Update and create a strategy to contact institutional project funders.

  • With your local colleagues, develop innovation and project proposals according to the institution's guidelines, interests and needs.

  • Develop an institutional project and create a follow up system to ensure its success.

Essential Academic Qualifications:

  • Degree in business, administration, economics, project management, international development or other relevant area.

Essential Professional Background:

  • Strong experience on project development

  • Knowledge on organizational strengthening
