The consultant will prepare a background note for this meeting of civil registrars in South Asia. This background note will prepare the ground work for a half day discussion on cross-border collaboration between national civil registration organisations, as well as across state/provincial civil registries. It will draw on desk research and key informant interviews of the current civil registration systems in South Asia and also on other experiences of cross border collaboration in other parts of the world. It will answer the following questions.
This is mainly a home based assignment. The consultant is expected to be at the South Asia civil registrars meeting, in its entirety. Air travel will be provided within the contract to the country of the meeting, and DSA also provided. The consultant is expected to purchase their own insurance.
Master’s or advanced university degree in social sciences, statistics or related field, or significant experience in the civil registration arena
Excellent written and spoken English required
