Salary: £22,989 per annum

We are currently looking for a Finance Officer – International in the Finance department to ensure adequate budgets related to the partners / donors are prepared in the field offices and reviewed in a timely manner, meet the needs of donor requirements and other stakeholders, ensure project approval/ set up process is completed in a timely manner for all new projects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team within Islamic Relief.

The Finance Officer will ensure the timely and accurate processing of international transfer requests within set deadlines, follow up with RFMS and field offices project liquidations documents, and have proper documentation in file for all transfers and projects as per audit requirements. The job holder will also ensure cash payment are made to customers in the required time-frame and be ready as back up to travel emergency deployment within 72 hours and be available to be deployed at least 6 weeks.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent (i.e. AAT) and must demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development and successful application of best practice in accounting and finance. In addition, a high level of computer literacy and Excel skills, plus experience in designing and manipulating reports is essential. With experience of providing support to a range of stakeholders including non-financial audiences at all levels in the organisation, the candidate should also have excellent all round business acumen and an understanding of the role of the Finance department in adding value to operational decision making.
