An estimated 30 million people have been affected by flooding in India. At the height of the emergency, 1.1 million people were hosted in 3,271 camps. People have begun to return home as water levels are dropping.

Red Cross and Red Crescent operations appeal for support to meet growing needs as fears rise for villages stranded by flood waters in large areas of Nepal, Bangladesh and India.
As water moves downstream from India and Nepal, more districts are expected to be flooded in the coming days, with food, water, medicine and special care for pregnant and lactating women urgently needed.
