ACT Alliance launched an appeal for the recovery, livelihood and resilience needs of communities affected by Cyclone Idai. To date, about 60 per cent of the $8,168,517 appeal has been funded.
Last month, funding shortfalls forced WFP to halve food rations for 525,000 people in Sofala province, the most damaged by Idai. That support will be halted completely unless WFP receives funds soon.
If this funding is not urgently received, hundreds of thousands of people in desperate need across the country will be unable to access life-saving and life-sustaining assistance.
