Since 1 April, the number of displaced people tops 190,000, nearly 20,000 fled last month alone. Humanitarian situation has been significantly deteriorating inside the city, protection for trapped civilians remains of high concern.
The first six months of 2014 saw the most intense and highest number of storms in Asia and the Pacific compared to the same period over the last five years. Over 31 million people were affected by 58 natural disasters.
More than one thousand people are still living in the evacuation centers after April's flash floods. Some people say they will not leave until the government comes through with its promise to resettle them.
