Cyclone Krosa is now south of Hong Kong and is forecast to hit Vietnam. Tropical storm 30 is likely to bring more heavy rain to IDPs in Zamboanga, who are living in camps which have already been flooded.

Heavy flooding, caused by seasonal rains and compounded by recent storms has affected large areas in SE Asia. Tropical Cyclone Nari is expected to impact the same locations.

Since mid-August, China has experienced two typhoons in the south and extremely severe flooding in the north. Authorities estimate the total number of people affected by the disasters to be over 10 million.
As of 26 August, more than 78,000 people are scattered across 359 evacuation centres, mostly schools, while more than 231,000 are staying with family and friends.
Of particular concern is an outbreak of Leptospirosis similar to what happened in 2009 when tropical storm Ketsana struck. More than one million people have been affected by the flooding.
