Since mid-August, China has experienced two typhoons in the south and extremely severe flooding in the north. Authorities estimate the total number of people affected by the disasters to be over 10 million.
Typhoon Utor, locally known as Labuyo, struck the Philippines in the mountainous north of Luzon. While information to date remains limited, some 22 people are reportedly missing and an estimated 935 are affected.
