WFP estimates that at least 300,000 metric tons of food, valued at US$275 million, is needed to scale up assistance in support of those people most affected by significant crop losses.
The report finds worryingly low food consumption levels and limited dietary diversity, with young children and pregnant and breastfeeding women at most risk.
People are also in urgent need of shelter, access to clean water and health services after the worst floods in recent history. Some of the affected areas have not been accessed yet.
