MERCY CORPS

Por Flujo de lodo en Caserío Pantic, Tamahú,Alta Verapaz. Se coordina con la Municipalidad las acciones con el área de salud, con un traslado de equipo para atención de crisis. Se brindó asistencia humanitaria con víveres (papel higiénico, detergentes, toallas sanitarias, azúcar, fideos, arroz, frijol, aceite, tazas plásticas, bolsas para basura), ropa y zapatos.

• Tropical Storm Nate formed on 5 October, travelling north along the Caribbean coastline of Central America towards the US Gulf Coast causing flooding and evacuations and affecting hundreds of homes.

La Tormenta Tropical Nate se formó el jueves 5 de octubre en el Caribe cerca de la costa de Nicaragua. La tormenta ha causado fuertes lluvias y deslaves en varios países de Centroamérica. Al 6 de octubre, las muertes se incrementaron a 28 con 14 personas desaparecidas. Los sistemas de protección civil han respondido con mecanismos de coordinación local.

Al 6 de octubre la Tormenta Nate se moviliza cerca o sobre la costa noreste de la Península de Yucatán a medida que sigue su rumbo hacia la costa del Golfo de los Estados Unidos, donde se pronostica que llegue como huracán.

Tropical Storm Nate formed Thursday 5 October in the Caribbean near the coast of Nicaragua. The storm caused heavy rains and landslides over several countries in Central America. As of 6 October, the death toll has risen to 28, with 14 people missing. National Civil Protection systems have been responding with local coordination mechanisms.

TS Nate will travel near or over the north-eastern coast of the Yucatan peninsula on the evening of 6 October as it makes its way to the US Gulf Coast, where it is projected to make landfall as a hurricane.

Los primeros pronósticos prevén que está en camino de tocar tierra en la costa central del Golfo de México durante el fin de semana, probablemente como huracán según el Centro Nacional de Huracanes (NHC).

Tropical Storm Nate formed on the morning of Thursday 5 October in the southwestern Caribbean. Early forecast models show that it is on track to make landfall in the central US Gulf Coast by the weekend, likely as a hurricane according to the National Hurricane Center.
