Disaster description

As of 28 July 2008, the National Disaster Coordinating Council of the Philippines reported that 10,370 persons were affected by flooding in Region I and CAR. Four deaths and five missing persons had been recorded. (Govt. of the Philippines, 28 Jul 2008)

Typhoon Fung Wong caused at least 300 million Taiwan dollars (30 million US dollars) in agricultural damage in Taiwan, the Council of Agriculture said Tuesday [29 July]. According to the council, 3,345 hectares of crops and orchards were flooded. (DPA, 29 Jul 2008)
