Madagascar: Cyclone Boloeste - Feb 2006

On 4 Feb 2006, Cyclone Boloeste hit the South-Western part of Madagascar. (ReliefWeb Situation Map, 9 Feb 2006) As of 9 Feb 2006, 6112 people were reported as affected, of which 5138 in the commune of Androka and 300 in the commune of Itampolo (Coastal area 200 Km south of Tulear). A total amount of 11 schools, 2 health centers, 1 market, 20 public buildings and 2491 private houses were either damaged or destroyed. (UN Resident Coordinator, 9 Feb 2006)
