Madagascar: Cyclone Hudah - Apr 2000
Disaster description
In Madagascar on 2 and 3 Apr 2000, cyclone Hudah brought heavy rains and caused flooding in the northern towns of Antalaha, Andapa and Maroansetra, affecting 369,271 persons. (OCHA, 30 Aug 2000) One of the worst affected areas was the north-eastern town of Antalaha which was virtually erased. (IFRC, 14 Jun 2000)
