Philippines: Landslides - Dec 2008

On December 27 2008, 3:00PM local time, heavy downpour of rains caused the loosening of soil and resulted in three landslides in Puroks 1-B, 3 and 12, all of Barangay Mount Diwata, Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province. (Govt. of Philippines, 27 Dec 2008) 202 families composed of 960 persons were displaced and 83 families took temporary shelter; 12 houses were damaged and four elementary school buildings destroyed.
