Philippines: Floods and Landslides - Sep 2008

At about 3:45 PM on 6 September 2008, a landslide occured at Poblacion Masara, Municipality of Maco, Compostela Valley Province due to heavy rains. A second landslide occurred at around 3:00 AM on 7 September. (Govt. of Philippines, 7 Sep 2008. On 22 September, a total of 615 families or 2,643 persons were displaced and took temporary shelter at the four designated evacuation centers; 25 persons were reported dead and 31 injured.
